I am 50 ... Yippie am 50 days old !

Hello folks,
I know, I know, it has been days I haven’t written anything. I was waiting for finishing my first 50. I did recently, and here is one to the first 50.

You ask, if I am upset with my name and don’t want to appear in public with my new name? Nah! that’s not the case, though I agree that for the first few days, when everyone on listening my name first asked “Himanshu?” “Mimansha?” “Vimansh?” “Nimesh?” “Nimansh?”, I was absolutely upset with my family and my name and ofcourse my parents. But now that it has been some time I am getting used to it and daddy assures me that when I grow up people would love naming their children after me. He is a hopeless optimist.

Well, lately, I have understood that at this age it is better not to get into the monotony of life around. And hence I sleep.

Now I recognize my mummy every time, I trust her. Last week , when I was crying, she wanted to know what the reason was, “Bachhu ko gas hua hai?” she asked, I wanted to answer but I think I don’t have the gift of speech that everyone in my family seem to have. “Bachhu ko garmi ho rahi hai?” and she started the fan, how badly I wanted to tell her, “Gimme Food”, and hence I tried opening my mouth and shout food but all that came out was “Coo” “Coo”, and she was so happy! She was happy that I could speak, but what sense does this speaking mean when I can’t convey even when I want a ride in the car. First sound after oova oova was “Coo, coo”, doesn’t both of them sound senselessly stupid but it’s fun to see how happy the elderly become on these senseless stuff.

I also learned smiling for the same reason. Did I tell you I like staying on Mama’s shoulders, especially when I am “gassy”.

papa likes photos from different angles

So yes events of the last 20 days, apart from the coocooing and smiling.
I was taken to a temple when I was 1 month and some days. They stuffed me with 2 shirts 2 nappies and a couple of payjamas!! all set for a meeting with their God. I liked going out.
One more time after that they took me out to the terrace. I have been there with Mummy daddy very often before my birth. Never knew that it was so airy!

I am gaining a little weight and I don’t know why my mom thinks that she needs to reduce, she is not the one growing. Take it slow mom! I have heard that I have got quite a few friends in my apartments. I wish I could go to them and play with them but here I take my space to tell them Hi. Hi Viraj, yashas, Tanya, Jheel, Avani, Vaidehi didi, Shanmitra bhaiya – I will take a few more months before I can come out to play with you (Mamma says a couple of years, but I am sure to pester her to let me out sooner, I have done that earlier you see ).

One important thing that I forgot: A few months back when I was in the dark space, I had been taken to my Dada Dadi’s home and they used to talk about those good curtains. I have been spending all my time when I am awake looking at those curtains…. Daddy, Mummy, “were these the curtains you were talking about?! !!! I am trying to find if there is anything good in it but it is so difficult.”

Dada Dadi are going back to Surendranagar for a month or two, Love you Dada Dadi and its gonna be Nani’s turn for the next few days.

And I don’t know why but these folks love clicking my nude pictures. I don’t want to have sleaze on my blog. Daddy, please don’t put it here.

I am not going to let dad write anymore else I don’t know what kind of photos will he put here.

Ok then,
Cheers to Johnsons and Johnsons,
Your Happy Mimansh

Mimansh, I am

[ Lately am keeping my dad too busy, so even when he has a lot of things to write about me, he never got time to do the same. So in place of writing prose he has started writing poetry(here). One because its short and fast and two because that would make his blog look better than mine :). Is that true? ]
Hi Folks,
Meemmm..... Mii... Minnmash ...... Mimnas.... Minmas ........ wondering why it is so difficult to pronounce my name. Am I the only one or you too are facing that problem ? whatever it is, this is going to be it as my parents have named me M-I-M-A-N-S-H. A little complicated but there are reasons for it. My mom and dad both loved this name. They say it sounds impressive.

Years back when Vedas were considered to be written by no human being, people considered everything that was mentioned in Vedas as ultimate truth. No one ever questioned the faith or the rituals that were the part of it. Then came a set of Men who were curious. These men weren't non-believer of Vedas, but they did not trust the written word the way everyone else blindly followed it. These men wanted to know if the hypothesis that is given in the Vedic literature is true. They took every shlok and every ritual and tested it against human experience. They believed in rituals (doing things) more than prayers. They were a clan of bohemian philosophers. This clan were named after the branch of philosophy they followed - Mimansa ( followers were called Mimansak). My dad seems to consider himself a new-age Mimansak. But I at times believe he is an Atheist. My dad says that a child's name is reflection is his parent's views. Might be, I am not sure, I dont have any children yet. ( Philosphy, Atheist , huh?!! I told you if I start philosophising, either I am drunk or its my dad, I havent got on to water yet and I wont drink anything neat, so this is my dad).

So yes from their comes the inspiration of my name. Mimansa is a feminine one so he thought of Mimans , but then there is one more thing that led him to add that "H" in the end. In sanskrit they say "Mamansh" is "My Part", so I being his part had to have a name that sounded like it. So yes, here I am named as a hybrid of Mimansa and Mamansh. I am Mimansh.

Other interesting events that happened after my namkaran are :
  • Dada got me all my birth certificates. Now I am officially Mimansh. Is there a way to apply for a name change once you grow up?
  • Once I don't remember exactly what happened, but I felt like laughing. I opened my mouth and was successful in imitating the way these people around me laugh. I laughed without my teeth sounding loud and funny. I thought everyone will be amused but to my surprise everyone was taken aback for a second, wondering what did I do, and then I laughed again, they got it the second time. Grown ups, I tell ya are too slow to catch things up!
  • On my first monthly birthday, I got many gifts, Dada - Dadi got me a musical Kitty with fireman, ambulance man, pilot and an air hostess (she is cute). They move around my head playing, dad said its "Fur Alice" (or whatever it is), and I love looking at them and follow their circles with my little eyes
  • Mummy got me a playing gym. Mummy seems to be thinking a lot about Gymming these days. Take it slow Mom!
  • Mama also got me many gifts.
  • One day some time back I remember, I cried and cried and cried. I wanted to eat what they eat (it was chocolates, i think !! ) but I dont know how I can say them that so I thought crying would be a better Idea, and I did. No one understands my feeling, so they took me to my witch (I hope you remember Dr. Heeremath, I too have a name now doctor) and apart from the medicines, she has prescribed me a drive in the car every time I cry. I wish dad takes her seriously on that.
  • Let me share a secret with you before ending this. I love releasing myself on these big people. :D its such a lot of fun. I have sprinkled my waters on almost everyone I know by now. Especially that lady who comes and massages me everyday, makes me do all sorts of exercise and bathes me, she gets a good dose of, you know all sorts of things, from me
  • Some events in the past week : Mom's Birthday, Parent's anniversary, Papa's uncle aunty and chirag kaka visiting me, I sucked my mom's thumb (well I had my eyes closed and now that I know it was her leg, I feel I will puke), Mama is back to pune and a few other things, you know life is happening.

So that kind of finishes most of my updates. Let me finish with saying bye.

Ciao,
Mimansh
[ Dad, this would not be fair if you dont put my photos on my blog regularly. Please keep my blog well in competition with yours! ]
Am I looking a little tanned in this photo ? [Me with Nilamasi]

That is me with my daddy's mama-mami, or is he my dadi's brother. I am a little confused.

Boys Love Blue

That is my Indian dress if you notice the white chaddi between the saffron and the green

And that is me, sleeping peacefully with Dadi, with Dada, with the weirdo and with my favourite bed.

So, then bbye till we meet again,

Kisses.

A few Collage of Photos

Hello Folks,
Daddy is too busy changing my nappies this weekend, and I am sure he must be dreaming of changing my wet nappies all the time he sleeps. Well everyone around me is calling me with a different name. They had promised me to name me in one week, and they are so very late. I like a few names that are floating around my cradle. Let's see if they have a good choice. I think this weekend daddy might not be able to put anything on my blog as he would be fighting with mom and Dada - dadi over the names he likes / dislikes. So till then my pestering has worked and I bring here a few photographs for you. Enjoy!

Waiting to be named,
Happy
P.S. : Sunbath thing is still on and I have got a trick to get back from it now. I store my you know what in my bladded till the time they take me upstairs in sun, and just after a few minutes in the sun, I release it all over me and cry. It kinda works everyday.
P.P.S : Joy of sleeping in someone's lap is something you need to check out... its the best thing that has happened to me till now... Dadi and mummy are the best.

P.P.P.S : I love becoming Rabbit! And Mamu loves clicking my photos, see here.

P.P.P.P.S ( so many PP makes me feel like going to the loo ) : Lastly for everyone who complained that I dont keep my eyes open.

{I wish daddy had mentioned less about my biological activities and more about me in this post, and how cute my photos are, but please forgive him, as I told you, he is just dreaming about my nappies }

Happy's First Top Ten

Hello Folks,

Hope you have not forgotten me. I have been keeping touch with a few of you through my daddy and mummy. And I love you all who have sent me love.
Man! what a week the last week was! Very hectic, I have been keeping extraordinarily busy. Apart from eating and sleeping that consumes 80% of my time now, it is vaccination and doctors that take the rest. Hepatatis B (Was it 1 or 2, dont know let daddy keep a note of it!), BCG and so on. But here I would like to make one more effort so that we can keep in touch.

Life till now has been cool. This week has been especially good, there were so many “firsts” in this week that it hasn’t been possible for me to capture all of it. But a few that I could, I would like to share with you.
So here are the top ten “Firsts” of my life till now:

Second on my top 10 list is my first gift, with the colors that I can understand well :

Third on my top 10 list is the best technological invention that has ever been made. It is so very ROCKING!! (I have a nice video which is not getting uploaded, sorry!! I know I will make up for it soon. check out my cradle till that time) Well the fourth thing on the list is one that burns my skin, and I mean it. They wake me up at 6:45 in the morning, and take me to the top of my buidling climbing up the stairs to the terrace. I am so afraid of heights and its so diffcult to trust our own dad these days.

Fifth place is a special one and that goes to my first bath. I love water but taking bath everyday is going a little overboard. I would love if they dip me in water and take me out but they love the ordeal of bath. Though my dad is trying to put some photos here, I don't agree that these are mine, especially the last one.

I know bath is not a great feeling but then, there is one feeling which is better than the other ones, and that is coming to home. They kept me so long in hospital that I had started believing that my parents down have a house of their own. Thank god that is not true, I will have a normal childhood, I have normal parents it seems as of now.

I wonder if I need to discuss my blog here. But it seems that this one is more interesting and more read blog piece than my father's blog posts. I hope he is not getting jealous.
I have asked everyone not to disturb me while I am awake, but its quite difficult to control people trying to catch my picture. Its very difficult to be a celebrity.

There was one more interesting thing that happened, one of my didis (Abhaya didi) sent me a first letter. Though I was very busy during that time, I found her words very special, these were the first addressed by someone to me directly. I did make time to reply her. So in the week's top 10 here is her mail to me and mine to her at 9 and 10.

By Next week i will try to pester my dad to post a few good photographs of mine and just that on demand. Hope he will.
Lovingly yours,
Happy.

I am Happy

Good Morning Folks,
Or is it good evening?
Well doesn't really matter to me. I am still the way i was a week back.
Life has been typically unusual ...
I had been in comfortable corners of a dark world, all alone, in a cozy comfortable, compact place for last 8 months. Never had to fight for my food even. But last 6 days have been typically unusual. They pushed me out of that world of mine into theirs and they all gathered around me cheerful about my arrival. Quite a scene I must say.

Oh sorry forgot introducing myself. I am Happy. I mean my name is happy. You might think, what kind of name is that? Well My daddy and mommy weren't sure whether I was a male or a female before doctors got me out, but they knew they will be happy on my arrival. So, "HAPPY" I am.
So now that we are friends, here is one of my first photographs to begin with. On a second thought they could have thought a better male name for me.

[CAUTION: I cannot write yet, well I dont do anything you see, so this blog is a translation of my world by my daddy. But, he doesnt understand the subtle differences between the "Uva Uva" and "Oooova Oooova" so he might go wrong in translation at times. And whenver I start sounding philosophical or get emotional, that is not me, its my dad who cannot translate a simple Uva without adding his comments]

I was born on 4th of May 2009 [4+5=9, I think dad wants me to learn maths]. It was a Monday. It was 25 days before the time they expected me to come. Quite many doctors were around when I entered the world. They showed my mom to me, she was very happy, but why was she in pain?! I saw her for the first time. I love her.

Mommy says she wanted a girl, and she would have named her Keya, but she never thought a name for me. So she is yet searching a name for me. Dada - Dadi are also here. Infact, I love being with my dadi. They say I look like mommy. Everyone who came to our room, first thought that I was a girl (I dont know why everyone here is obsessed with girls). That too is because I look like my mom. See : [I dont have a photograph with daddy, will post it later]

The tall unshaven shabby man whom I have seen for last 6 days, is my dad. Everyone is happy around me, but he always cries the moment he looks at me. Weirdo! But still cant choose your dad! Dada-dadi are particularly nice. Their tummys make a comfortable bed. Wish papa had a similar one.

My Life Till Date ...

Its quite uncomfortable in the outside world, I like sleeping. I slept for the entire 2 days. They did my things, would clean me whenever they thought necessary. I don't like dirty things, so I cry everytime my nappy shits. {wonder why dad is using such words in my blog!}

Third day was better, they tried various things to wake me up. It took them 2 days to figure out that they should have switched off the lights (I was always in the dark, but now I think lights are interesting). I opened my eyes for the first time. Everything that is happening these days is tagged as my "first" and mommy wants to preserve all of it. My first toy, my first snap, my first shirt, my first day in sun ....

Every few hours doctors came to me. I dont like them. They take the clothes off me, the world is quite chilling. And they will make me cry to see how my color changes. They would take me in sun to 'observe' me. Quite like Rapunzel's 'Mother Gothel' Witch (daddy says he will tell me who she was when I grow up). So this Gothel Witch of mine, Dr. Hiramath (everyone has a name but me), whom my dad listens carefully said that i look Yellow. Did I look yellow?

But I think that was her ploy to separate me from my family and she was successful. She took me to a closed blue room, and kept me under blue lights. They say, boys should wear blue but I like pink and pink looks nice one me. BTW my parents dont have a style, else why would they come up with a green kittens on pink dress?! I hope I learn speaking soon and will teach them.

Well that reminds me of one more thing. I don't remember how long it has been, [infact it seems like a case of long term memory loss, I dont recollect anything before last 8 months], but my mom had seen something on a TV screen [I would never know such words, dad is trying to translate], a story of 'Happy Singh', I remember something and in my try to imitate him, I did manage to bring some smiles to my parents. Its quite satisfying to see your parents play.

[Papa says on seeing this that I get in to the character, whatever it means]

When they got me out of those blue lights, I was ready for my family, I had learned smiling in those 2 days to surprise them. But now when i look at my photo I wonder what did they do to my hairs? A real Goethel Witch! How could she order each of my hairs to stand like this?! On top of it in name of Polio drops she gave me a couple of really nasty drops. Yucks!

So now that I have told you about my 'Hospital life', which forms 80% of the time I have lived till now, I would like to tell you that I was released too. And I came back to my family. And as soon as I came they took me and ran away in a car. I found the car interesting for a few seconds, but its quite boring if you aren't tall enough to look outside. And then I came home with my sweet mom carrying me in her arms. Evening was a little entertaining too. Daadi said that on the sixth day of my life, the almighty god would write my future. so we brought a paper and a pen and prayed god, I was given a green dress to pray. Lets see what it turns out to be!

Whatever it is, I will always keep in touch, you too, be there. Take care and please dont wear nappys, they shit big time!
